Law firm website design: an informative, searchable site within bar rules
A law firm website presents the firm's practice areas, lawyers and contact details in an informative register. Bar rules in most European jurisdictions restrict claims of superiority and promises of outcome, so it cannot be written like a marketing site. ALTAI Digital builds firm sites within that boundary. Each practice area gets its own page, the questions clients ask most get guide articles, and intake, appointments, GDPR notices and a structure Google can read are part of the build.
A law firm's site is written under a constraint other businesses do not have: professional conduct rules restrict how lawyers may advertise, and in several jurisdictions comparative or outcome-based claims are prohibited outright. The site is therefore an information tool rather than a promotional one: what the firm does, who works there, how to reach them.
The constraint does not make the site useless. A person with a legal problem types the problem into Google; the firm whose site answers that question clearly and within the rules is the one that gets found. The sixteen-page site we built for Zeren Hukuk follows exactly this logic: nine practice areas, six guides, contact and intake.
Below is the scope of a law firm site build, the process and the questions we are asked most. Texts are written to the applicable bar rules and shown to the firm before publication.
What goes wrong today
- 01
Practice areas listed on one page
The firm works in nine areas but the site lists them as headings. Google looks for each area on its own page, so the firm appears for none of them.
- 02
No answers to the questions clients ask
Someone searches how much a rent increase may be; a site without that answer is invisible to them. A firm with a guide is both found and trusted.
- 03
Uncertainty about what may be written
Because the rules are unclear to the firm, either nothing is written or a prohibited phrase slips in. Both harm the firm.
- 04
Intake scattered across channels
Phone, e-mail and WhatsApp run separately; nobody knows which request arrived and who owns it. First consultations are lost.
Scope of the build
A page per practice area
Family, employment, criminal, property, commercial: each area gets its own page with scope, frequently asked questions and related guides, all in an informative register.
Guide articles
The questions the firm meets most often are written as guides (rent, dismissal, inheritance, divorce procedure). Guides cite sources and do not give personal legal advice; that distinction is stated in the text.
Language within bar rules
No superiority claims, comparisons or promises of outcome; titles and practice areas are presented according to the applicable rules. The firm approves every text before publication.
Intake and first-consultation flow
Requests from the form or WhatsApp land in a single queue and are routed to the right lawyer. Nothing is lost and it is visible who handled what.
GDPR and privacy notices
Privacy notice, cookie and data-processing pages are set up for forms and contact channels; the firm may substitute its own texts.
Search-ready structure
Every page carries the schema Google reads (legal service, attorney, FAQ); Search Console is connected and pages are submitted for indexing.
How the build runs
- 01
Discovery (1 week)
Practice areas, lawyer profiles and frequent questions are collected; the advertising boundary is agreed with the firm.
- 02
Writing and design (2 weeks)
Area pages and guides are written, the firm reviews and corrects; the design follows the firm's identity.
- 03
Launch (1 week)
Domain and hosting are registered to the firm, GDPR texts are placed, the site goes live.
- 04
Indexing and measurement
Search Console and the Business Profile are connected; at the end of month one we report which queries the site appears for.

Terms used on this page
- Bar advertising rules
- The professional conduct rules that limit how lawyers may present themselves; in most European jurisdictions they prohibit superiority claims, comparisons and promises of outcome while allowing factual information.
- Practice area page
- A separate page describing one field of law (family, employment, criminal) with its scope, frequent questions and related guides; Google looks for each area on its own page.
- Privacy notice
- The GDPR text that tells a person which data is processed and why before a form or contact channel collects it.
- Intake queue
- The single list where consultation requests from the form, e-mail and WhatsApp are collected and routed to the right lawyer.
law firm website designFrequently asked questions
Rules differ by bar, but superiority claims, promises of outcome, comparisons with other lawyers and advertising-style wording are restricted in most European jurisdictions. Practice areas, lawyers' titles and profiles, contact details and informative articles are allowed. The final decision rests with the firm; texts are approved before publication.
Guides are written as general information and say so at the top; they state that a personal situation requires a lawyer. Statutes and official regulations are cited as sources.
Four weeks. The number of practice areas and guides does not change the schedule; delays in the firm's text approval do.
Form and WhatsApp requests land in one queue; the firm routes each to the right lawyer. A calendar can be connected so that clients pick an open slot.
The firm. Domain, hosting and source code are registered to the firm; ALTAI Digital is added as an administrator.
By the number of practice areas, guides and the intake scope, after the discovery call. The scope of the Zeren Hukuk build is on its case page.
People search for a practice area together with a city; the first condition is a separate page per area with the city and the firm's name on it. Guides bring in question-shaped searches. Linking the site to the Google Business Profile puts the firm in map results as well.

The process first, the proposal after
In a short discovery call we map the process together and tell you plainly whether it is worth automating. If it is not, we say that too.
