Web design Istanbul: a site built for your business, not a template
ALTAI Digital is a web design and AI automation agency based in Istanbul, with a co-founder working from Rotterdam. Sites are written from scratch in Next.js rather than assembled from templates: they load fast on a phone and are structured the way search engines read. English and Turkish run in the same build, and the domain, hosting and source code are registered to the business. Discovery can happen in person in Istanbul.
Businesses in Istanbul that sell abroad face a particular version of the website problem. The Turkish site works, more or less, and the English version is an afterthought: a translated page or two, no separate structure, nothing that a buyer searching in English would ever find. Meanwhile the site itself is slow on a phone, which is where most visitors arrive.
We build sites from scratch. Pages are rendered on the server in Next.js, so they open quickly and search engines read the content without running JavaScript. Before anything goes live it passes three gates: a speed measurement, an accessibility check and a search-engine check. A version that fails one of them does not ship.
Both languages are part of the same build, not a bolt-on. Each language has its own pages, its own addresses and correct language tags, so an English search finds the English page. Where it matters, a third language can follow the same pattern. Content is edited by your team from one admin screen.
Working in Istanbul also means we can meet. Discovery can start at your office, which usually changes the plan for the better. We have built for estate agents in Sariyer and Zekeriyakoy, restaurants along the Bosphorus and law firms. Sector pages are listed below; pricing is given after the discovery call.
What goes wrong today
- 01
The English site is an afterthought
A few translated pages sit under the Turkish site with no structure of their own. Buyers searching in English never reach them, and the pages that do rank read like machine translation.
- 02
Templates that look like everyone else
A bought theme appears on dozens of sites in the same sector. Visitors see no difference, and every new requirement turns into another plugin on top of the last one.
- 03
Slow on a phone
Most visits come from phones. A heavy theme, unsized photos and a stack of plugins make pages crawl, and visitors leave for the next result rather than waiting.
- 04
Updates depend on the agency
Changing a price, a service or a team member means emailing someone. The update joins a queue and the site trails reality until nobody bothers.
- 05
Domain and hosting in someone else's account
The domain is registered to the agency and hosting sits there too. When the relationship ends, moving the site becomes a negotiation and business email is at risk.
- 06
Enquiries land nowhere
The contact form sends an email that disappears into an inbox. Nobody knows who followed up, and no record connects the enquiry to a sale.
Scope of the build
Hand-coded site
Pages are rendered on the server in Next.js and hosted on Vercel or your own server. Typography, colour and components come from your brand guidelines rather than a theme, and every screen is measured rather than assumed.
Three gates before launch
Each page passes a speed measurement, an accessibility check and a search-engine check before it ships. A version that fails one of them does not go live.
English and Turkish in one build
Both languages have their own pages, addresses and language tags, so an English search lands on the English page. Prices and content are entered once per language from the same admin screen.
Pages named the way people search
The site is more than a corporate story: it has pages written with the service names buyers actually type. Which phrases matter is measured during discovery and the structure follows.
Bookings, reservations and WhatsApp
Depending on the sector, bookings, reservations, a QR menu or a WhatsApp line come with the same build. The enquiry form is tied to a record, so what each person asked for stays written down.
Domain and hosting in your name
Domain, hosting and source code are registered to the business from day one. ALTAI Digital is added as an administrator; ownership never changes hands.
Measurement after launch
Search Console and the Google Business Profile are connected and pages are submitted for indexing. Page speed, visits and conversions are tracked, and a first report follows after a month.
How the build runs
- 01
Discovery (1 week)
We collect content, images and the service list, measure the current site and Business Profile, and can meet at your office in Istanbul.
- 02
Design and writing (2 weeks)
Pages are written, modules built and both languages prepared, with a review session in between.
- 03
Corrections and launch (1 week)
Corrections are applied, domain and hosting are registered to the business, and the site goes live.
- 04
Connect and measure
Search Console and the Business Profile are connected, pages are submitted for indexing and the first report follows after a month.
Istanbul business site, two languages
- Five hand-coded pages and sector modules
- Speed, accessibility and search gates before launch
- English and Turkish with correct language tags
- Bookings, reservations or a WhatsApp line
- Admin screen and a content walkthrough
- Domain and hosting in the business's name
Pricing is given after the discovery call, once the scope is clear.
For a villa and luxury property specialist in Sariyer, Istanbul, we built a site on his own domain. Listings come from the portfolio system, valuation requests are tied to a form, and separate area pages cover Zekeriyakoy, Uskumrukoy, Demircikoy, Tarabya, Yenikoy and Maslak.

Four weeks: one for discovery, two for design and writing, one for corrections and launch. The only thing that extends it is late content.

Yes, in the same build. Each language has its own pages and addresses with correct language tags, so search engines serve the right one.
We measure first: speed, phone layout, structure and search visibility. On most sites we have measured, rebuilding took less time than repairing; the decision comes out of the discovery call.
Search Console is connected and pages are submitted for indexing at launch. Ongoing content and technical work is a separate service; the site itself is built to be searchable from the start.
Yes. The team works from Istanbul and Rotterdam, and we deliver in English, Dutch or Turkish for clients in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

The process first, the proposal after
In a short discovery call we map the process together and tell you plainly whether it is worth automating. If it is not, we say that too.
