Restaurant website design: menu, reservations and WhatsApp in one place
A restaurant website answers the three questions a guest asks before choosing a table: what is on the menu and at what price, is it open now and where, and can I reserve. ALTAI Digital builds restaurant sites around those three jobs. The menu is updated in one place and the QR code on the table opens the same page; reservations arrive by WhatsApp or a web form. The site is published in two languages and connected to the Google Business Profile. Delivery takes four weeks.
In September 2026 we measured the web presence of 93 fish restaurants along the Bosphorus in Istanbul. 54 had a website; 21 of those were built on outdated technology, 7 were broken or would not load, 3 were single-page business cards, and 14 had no menu or reservation section at all. The other 39 restaurants had no site; guests knew them only through Google Maps reviews.
The pattern is not specific to Istanbul. A restaurant site is not a brochure; its job is to answer tonight's guest. If the menu, opening hours and a way to reserve are not on the site, the guest falls back to Instagram or the phone, and someone in the kitchen has to pick up during the busiest hour.
Below is the scope of a restaurant site build, the process and the questions we are asked most. Pricing is given after the discovery call, once the scope is clear.
What goes wrong today
- 01
The menu is missing or out of date
Prices change and the site does not; a guest arrives with one price in mind and sees another at the table. In our measurement, 14 of 54 restaurant sites had no menu at all.
- 02
Reservations depend on the phone
During evening service nobody answers, and whoever answers cannot see the floor plan. After two attempts the guest messages another restaurant.
- 03
One language, tourists lost
In Rotterdam and along the coast a large share of guests are not local. A site without an English page is invisible to them and does not appear in English searches.
- 04
Pages that do not open on a phone
Most restaurant searches happen on a phone. Old sites load slowly and hide the map and the menu below several scrolls.
Scope of the build
Live menu and table QR code
The menu is edited in one place; the site's menu page and the QR code on the table open the same page. Category, description, price, allergens and photo fields are ready; a price change takes a minute.
Reservations by WhatsApp and web form
The guest picks a date, time and party size; the request lands in WhatsApp or e-mail and is confirmed with one tap. Time slots can be closed by table capacity if needed.
Two languages
English and Dutch (or Turkish) are published in the same build; menu and reservations work in both. Language tags are set so that an English search returns the English page.
Google Maps and Business Profile connection
The site is linked to the Business Profile; address, hours, phone and reviews are maintained from one source. Restaurant schema (menu, hours, location) is written into the page.
WhatsApp line and ordering link
One tap opens WhatsApp from the site; restaurants that deliver get a link to their own line or to the ordering platform they already use.
Speed and phone layout
Pages are coded from scratch and open in under three seconds on a phone; map and menu are on the first screen. Photos are resized on upload.
How the build runs
- 01
Discovery (1 week)
Menu, photos, hours and the reservation flow are collected; the current site and Business Profile are measured.
- 02
Design and writing (2 weeks)
Pages are written, the menu system is set up, both languages are prepared; an interim preview is shared.
- 03
Corrections and launch (1 week)
Corrections are applied, domain and hosting are registered to the business, the site goes live.
- 04
Connection and measurement
Search Console and the Business Profile are connected, pages are submitted for indexing, a measurement report follows at the end of month one.
Restaurant site, bilingual
- Five pages: home, menu, reservations, about and location, contact
- Live menu and table QR code
- WhatsApp and web-form reservations
- Content in two languages
- Google Business Profile and Search Console connection
- Domain and hosting in the restaurant's name
Pricing is given after the discovery call, once the scope is clear.

Products used in this build
Web and mobile development
Code written from scratch: web with Next.js, mobile with React Native and Swift; the repository is yours from day one.
Online booking and scheduling
Online booking for clinics, salons and hotels; reminders and cancellation handling close the empty slot.
WhatsApp Business integration
Notifications, order tracking and customer conversations gather in the business account; the history stays with the company.
Terms used on this page
- QR menu
- The menu a guest opens by scanning the code on the table; it is the site's own menu page, not a separate app, so it changes the moment the site does.
- Reservation module
- The part of the site that takes a date, time and party size and drops the request into WhatsApp or e-mail, closing time slots by table capacity when asked to.
- Google Business Profile
- The listing shown on Google Maps and in search results; it carries address, hours, phone, photos and reviews and, once linked to the site, is maintained from a single source.
- Restaurant schema
- Structured data written into the page that lets Google show menu, hours, location and cuisine directly in the search result.
restaurant website designFrequently asked questions
Four weeks: one for discovery, two for design and writing, one for corrections and launch. If the menu and photos arrive in week one, the schedule holds.
No. The QR code opens the menu page of the site; the menu is edited in one place and changes on the site and at the table at the same time. No separate menu-app subscription is needed.
Small and mid-sized restaurants do not; WhatsApp and a web form are enough. Restaurants that want floor-plan and capacity management get a reservation module added to the same site.
Menu and page texts are collected in one language; the second version is written as part of the build and shown to the restaurant before launch. We deliver in English, Dutch and Turkish.
We measure first: speed, phone layout, menu and reservation status. For most of the sites we measured, rewriting was faster than repairing; the decision is made on the discovery call.
Pricing depends on page count, languages and the reservation scope and is given after the discovery call. The scope of the bilingual restaurant site is listed in the package above.
The Business Profile is linked to the site during the build; hours, phone and address are maintained from one list. The menu and reservation links are added to the profile too, so a guest goes from the map straight to the menu or the booking form.

The process first, the proposal after
In a short discovery call we map the process together and tell you plainly whether it is worth automating. If it is not, we say that too.
